CROWN CASTLE INTERNATIONAL AT THE:

INTERNATIONAL BROADCAST CONVENTION

The RAI Centre, AMSTERDAM - Stand No: 8.412

8th - 12th September 2000

Warwick, United Kingdom, 7 September 2000 - Crown Castle International, the world's leading wireless infrastructure network provider, with near-universal broadcast coverage of the UK population, will be exhibiting at the forthcoming International Broadcast Convention at the RAI Exhibition Centre, Amsterdam from the 8th - 12th of September 2000.

At the conference, Crown Castle International will be demonstrating their ability to utilise different broadcast platforms (Digital Radio/DTT/FM) for delivery of managed data content alongside the broadcast payload. These platforms will be used to demonstrate the power of interactivity and content management when applied to the convergence of data and broadcast media.

Based upon its experience of introducing world-first Digital Radio and DTT networks, Crown Castle will be demonstrating the following delivery systems on the stand.

  • Digital Radio - This platform will be used to demonstrate the transference of HTML files and Multimedia from a web site server, over a carousel, to a portable Digital Radio receiver.
  • DTT - This platform will demonstrate the transmission of content stored on separate servers (MPEG & IP data), via a single Transport Stream, transmitted over a DTT channel.
  • Convergence - Via the use of a WAP handset, interfacing with the content management system on the server, it will be possible to demonstrate on-demand delivery of data via the broadcast media.

Amongst those attending the event on behalf of Crown Castle International are John Ward, Managing Director, Broadcast, John Ballard, Director of Broadcast and Engineering, Alan Rees, Executive Vice President, Technology, David Crawford, Director of R&D, and Chairman of the IBC Technical Papers Committee and Martin Ellen, Director of Technical Development. If you are attending the show, please feel free to visit our stand.
